Saving, Loading and Deleting of documents
When a document is saved, a sound file can be recorded naming the document using the included headset and microphone, that allows the user to identify it. When loading or deleting a file, the user scrolls through a list of the saved files and as they do, the sound file that has been recorded for that file is played back, allowing it to be identified and easily retrieved.

Versatility
Multi-page documents
The ReadAnywhere allows its users to scan and save multipage documents. When the user has scanned the first page they can then place the next page in the scanner and press the append button. This scans the next page in the background, without interrupting the reading of the first page. This is an invaluable feature when reading books or long documents as it avoids any untimely and irritating pauses at the end of pages.
Memory card reader
The ReadAnywhere has a built in memory card reader that allows its users to save and load files from S.D., MMC and MS memory cards. This is an excellent way for users to transfer documents to their PC or braille display.
Use it as a stand alone PC!
A superb feature of the ReadAnywhere is that it can transform into a standard PC by attaching a mouse, keyboard and monitor to it. The users can then utilize the latest screen reader and magnification software to aid them to access the internet, create word documents or send and receive e-mails.The ReadAnywhere also has built in wireless networking and bluetooth for enhanced connectivity. Visually impaired users can therefore rely on ReadAnywhere for all their computer and reading needs!
Importing from and Exporting to MP3 Players
Users can plug in an USB MP3 player and choose to save their documents directly to it, in MP3 or plain text format, so they can be carried anywhere!
Plain text files that are on USB memory sticks can also be imported and read out loud using the ReadAnywhere.

CD Playing / Burning
ReadAnywhere allows the playing of any format audio CD including Daisy and MP3 CDs. Documents can also be saved directly to CD in either MP3 or standard CD audio format allowing you to listen to them on any standard CD player.
Quality of Speech
The ReadAnywhere uses the latest AT&T Natural voices for the highest quality speech available with superb intonation.
Every ReadAnywhere comes with four high quality 16khz voices, Mike and Crystal (American accent) plus two voices with English accents, Audrey and Charles. Additional voices are available.
ReadAnywhere can be supplied in many languages other than English; there is no limit to the total number of languages that can be installed on one machine! Each additional language comes with a high quality voice and fully translated menus.
Speed
Twice as fast as most desktop reading machines - Less than 50 seconds from being turned on, ReadAnywhere is ready to scan the first page. A standard letter type document then takes only 20 seconds before it is being read out to you. Complicated newspaper documents with many columns and photographs take only 30 seconds!
