The main reason is that the Readit makes reading so much faster and less tiring.

With Readit's advanced automatic text scrolling, you no longer have to move the page around under the camera manually. You can choose to have your document displayed to you in the way that suits your reading style. What's more, you can have Readit actually read your document to you as it scrolls, in any one of four included life-like voices.

Enhanced reading modes

Overlay View This unique patented viewing mode allows you to retain your document layout and full colour images whilst fully enhancing the text. You can simply click on a word to start Readit reading your document to you from that point.
Horizontal View This view stretches all of your document's text into a single line meaning you can just set the speed of scolling and reading, sit back, and read your document.
Vertical View This view centers one word on each line so you can just set the speed of scolling and reading, sit back, and read your document.
Column View This view fits as many words as it can onto each line and then lets you scroll and read them vertically.

Readit's other incredible features include:

• A3 capture size

  Redit PC is the first and only machine that allows you to read the whole page of a tabloid newspaper again! Anyone who has tried reading a newspaper in a scanner based reading machine will know how awkward this can be.

• Large book and round surface capturing

  Thanks to its advanced software, Readit automatically straightens the spines of books for you - something which scanner based reading machines cannot. Incredibly it can also read labels on tins of food and even some prescription medicine bottles!

• Glossy document capture

  Thanks to Readit's advanced software, even documents inside plastic folder wallets or glossy magazines are recognised as if they were a matt surface.

• High speed capture

  Capture 20 pages per minute and begin reading as soon as the first has finished processing. Typical pages take just 25 seconds on a normal computer. This compares to just 3 pages per mintue for the fastest scanner based reading machine, the ReadEasy.

• Unlimited document storage

  Readit's only limit on the number and size of your documents is the amount of hard disk space you have. Each page occupies approximately 5 MB.

• Voices

  Every Readit comes with not one but four human sounding voices as standard (two UK accent and two US accent). The are from AT&T and are renowned for being the best voices currently available.

• Custom designed keypad

  Although Readit can be controlled entirely from a standard keyboard, every Readit includs a high contrast, tactile USB keypad which means you don't have to memorise any keystrokes and makes operating the Readit very intuitive.



• Height and tilt adjustable monitor up to 24 inches in size

  To ensure that Readit's screen is at the perfect ergonimic position for every user, it is fully height and tilt adjustable.

• Multiple help modes
